| Some of our readers will be interested to note that Colum Cille (St Columba) does not appear in the list. This is because we believe that his influence in this part of Alba was relatively minor and our efforts, to-date, have been wholly taken up researching those Saints who left more certain footprints on our soils. Many, nowadays, seriously doubt if Colum Cille ever actually came to the north-east and what influences the "Iona school" had were the result of the work of Columban 'disciples' such as Adamnan. |
